Ho ho ho! This little wool Reindeer with Holly Ornament is oh so jolly for your home this holiday!

The history of reindeer in New York City is closely tied to the development of the modern Santa Claus figure and the poem, generally attributed to Clement Clark Moore Visit from St. Nicholas commonly known as 'Twas the Night Before Christmas. In 1809 Washington Irving's Knickerbocker's History of New York depicts St. Nicholas as a symbol of Dutch-American identity, and includes a description of him riding a wagon over trees. In 1823, the Troy Sentinel published the poem by Moore which features eight flying reindeer pulling Santa's sleigh and, for the first time, they are identified by name.
